There is no fee for this Roundtable session, however, advanced registration is required.
When planning the next educational move, it is important to find the right fit. In this roundtable session, we will talk through how to help non-traditional students find their right college fit. After setting the stage with some discussion about exactly what we mean by non-traditional, we will list the questions we must answer before advising our students. We’ll talk about how they differ from “traditional students,” and share important tips about programs to promote and programs to stay away from. We’ll close with open discussion of our experiences advising clients.
Upon completion, participants will:
- Have the essential questions to ask a young adult/adult headed to college
- Know the important traits of “non-traditional” college students
- Identify good college programs for non-traditional students; and
- Define “proprietary college”
All workforce development practitioners who advise out-of-school participants on college planning.
