This training is a half-day session, if you have a seat package, you will be unable to use a seat for this session.
In this course, participants will gain a better understanding of the rights, opportunities and potential pitfalls for immigrant jobseekers and workers. A general overview of immigration will be followed by an exploration of the rights of immigrants in the workplace. Topics covered include how to get a work permit, rights for those working legally and not legally, and deportation concerns and rights related to both authorized and unauthorized workers.
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Learn about the rights immigrants have in the workplace;
- Develop skills on how to assist immigrant jobseekers and workers; and
- Create next steps for implementation.
