Non-profit Management Development
A large multi service organization based in South Brooklyn faced a challenge regarding the leadership development of their management team. WPTI worked closely with the organization’s executives to design and implement four full-day, multi-pronged professional development sessions that covered theory, strategies, concepts and best practices in the mornings. Action groups utilized the afternoon sessions to explore solutions to longstanding organizational challenges. The organization later reported that, as a result of WPTI’s consulting, management teams had become more cohesive, increased the overall quality of services provided to participants, fostered personal development among staff and were actively contributing to organizational growth.
A national workforce development nonprofit’s NYC chapter needed to update their curriculum in light of changing demographics and employer partners. The organization commissioned WPTI to strengthen its proven work readiness program. Working closely with organization managers and trainers, WPTI conducted a thorough needs assessment to determine strengths and areas of opportunity within the existing curriculum; revised existing modules and developed new materials; produced a facilitator’s guide and lesson plans; and delivered a “train the trainers” session at the annual leadership institute to ensure quick and efficient implementation. This enhanced curriculum is now used by affiliates across the country.
For-profit Employee Outreach and Pre-Hire Training
One of the largest for-profit international fashion companies has a corporate commitment to hire individuals with significant barriers to employment. To meet that pledge, the company hired WPTI to provide and run a highly customized theoretical pre-service training for participants in its job placement project. WPTI served as lead facilitator for the majority of the two-week training and participated, observed, and assisted in the remainder of the sessions. WPTI also provided a full-day training for program mentors. WPTI’s customized solutions provided the template the company needed to scale up its social responsibility outreach.
