Curriculum Development

Develop standardized approaches to training job seekers and employers in your organization.

Organizations often employ different models of training, placing, and retaining participants into jobs. In the coming years, WPTI will help the workforce development field define and actualize standardized practices for training the next pool of job seekers. We have assisted workforce-development organizations and the public sector to tackle this challenging issue.

An example of our work includes a recent project with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT), an employment readiness and job skills training organization in Brooklyn that focus on youth. Over the past year, we assisted the entire OBT training staff to update, modernize, and standardize their academic and soft skills employment readiness training curriculum, resulting in reduced participant attrition and increased job placements representing a more suitable match between employer needs and job seeker skills and interests.

"Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow’s curriculum model had a perceived tension between vocational goals and GED outcomes.  The work WPTI and their staff did with our instructors helped them to reconcile this perception demonstrating that it is possible to bridge both worlds and deliver content that is complementary and at times integrated."
