Program Description

WPTI is excited to partner with LaGuardia Community College’s College and Career Pathways Institute (CCPI) to offer CCPI’s Career Advisement Training Series.

This workshop will focus on creating, building, and sustaining a program culture that engages student career aspirations and advancement as well as academic attainment and growth. Participants will have the opportunity to explore LaGuardia’s Bridge to College and Career programmatic components and features that are concerned with creating a career and college going environment. After discussing and exploring specific programmatic strategies, participants will work together to develop their own list of programmatic strategies that they can implement in their own programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to engage student career aspirations and advancement
  • Analyze several ways of building a college and career going culture
  • Develop an action plan for creating a college and career going culture in your program

Intended Audience

Any staff members that play an integral role in the program’s culture, including Administrative, Instructional, and Executive Staff.

This training is only for staff from programs which DYCD contracts.

Registration / Cancellation Policy

Advanced registration for this workshop is required. An insufficient number of registrants will result in cancellation or rescheduling of this workshop. Registration is for the approved candidate only. Substitutions are not allowed without the approval of the TA Provider.

Training registration will close on the day before the training at 12:30pm

This training is only for staff from programs which DYCD contracts. Registrations will be reviewed and you will be sent a confirmation email within 24 to 72 hours of registration, plus a final reminder email the day before the training. Any registrations from individuals from programs that do not hold a DYCD contract will be unable to participate in this training.
